History of Torrot Motorcycles

Above on the page there are several PDF Manuals with Wiring Diagrams for TORROT Electric Motorcycles, Scooters.

Although Torrot is not well-known motorcycle brand, it has a decent history.

Don Luis Iriondo began to produce bicycles and mopeds in the late 40s of the last century.

Then the production of motorcycles was launched together with the French brand Terrot (initially, the Spanish branch of the brand received the same name).

Peugeot bought Terrot Motorcycles in 1958, but closed the business two years later.

Don Luis Iriondo restored his business and renamed the brand Torrot, removing bicycles and mopeds from the production cycle.

Buying Gas Gas (but only for a few years) for Torrot is a chance to become a major player in the world of off-road motorcycles.

The company plans to invest $14 million in the bankrupt (in addition to the purchase price) and $8 million to pay off debt.

One of the major manufacturers of trial motorcycles, the Spanish brand Gas Gas, which went bankrupt about a year ago, has finally found a home in its homeland.

The property and all rights to the company were bought by the Torrot Group.

In March 2020, Rieju acquired the hard enduro motorcycle production platform from Torrot Group, the former owner of the Gas Gas brand, where the legendary Gas Gas EC 300 2T motorcycle was built.
